Support Comes in Many Forms
Financial Sponsorship
Piedmont Center for Sustainability is incorporated as a non-profit in the state of North Carolina, seeking tax-exempt 501(c)3 status. Our financial goal is to go to the on-site auction of Camp Douglas Long in Greensboro, NC, on May 31, 2014 with enough financial backing to bid confidently for the land. We wish to secure the property in order to save the beautiful cypress grove and to save the entire camp itself, which is a piece of Girl Scouts’ and Greensboro’s history. This site will ultimately become a resource for sustainability for the surrounding communities, and will feature a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) membership, and educational programs. Join Our Board of Directors
We are looking well-connected individuals to join our Board of Directors. Ideal candidates would be willing to put in about 5+ hours per week toward organizing the public, pursuing funding, and spreading awareness about our goal to acquire Camp Douglas Long. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining our Board of Directors, please speak with them personally and ask them to contact us.
Direct Action
The best way to help right now, besides financial contributions, is to share our website, Facebook posts, and tweets with those who may be interested in the work we do. The more the public hears about our goals, the better chance of success we will have. We will also be in need of people to help produce and promote fundraising events. This could be event planners who are passionate about sustainability, community members who wish to staff information tables, or those with strong networks who can publicize our fundraising events. If this kind of activism is exactly what you want to do, e-mail [email protected]. Let us know your skills and talents so that we can get you the most current information about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
